 ઓટોકાર ઈન્ડિયાના એક અહેવાલમાં દાવો કરવામાં આવ્યો છે કે MG E230 ઈલેક્ટ્રિક કારને SAIC-GM-Wulingની ભાગીદારીમાં ગ્લોબલ સ્મોલ ઈલેક્ટ્રિક વ્હીકલ (GSEV) પ્લેટફોર્મ પર બનાવવામાં આવશે, જેમાં ચીનના બજારમાં બાઓજુન E100, E200, E300 જેવી ઘણી ઈલેક્ટ્રિક કાર હશે. અને E300 Plusની સાથે માઇક્રો ઇલેક્ટ્રિક કાર Wuling Hongguang Mini EV બનાવવામાં આવી છે. આ તમામ ઈલેક્ટ્રિક કાર બે દરવાજા એટલે કે બે દરવાજાવાળા વાહનો છે. એવી અપેક્ષા રાખવામાં આવે છે કે MG E230 પણ આ માઇક્રો કાર જેવા જ પરિમાણો સાથે આવી શકે છે.

રિપોર્ટમાં વધુમાં દાવો કરવામાં આવ્યો છે કે ભલે તે બે-દરવાજા અને ચાર-સીટ ફોર્મ ફેક્ટરવાળી માઇક્રો ઇલેક્ટ્રિક કાર હશે, પરંતુ તેની પાછળના ભાગમાં સારો લેગરૂમ હશે. ઓટોકાર ઇન્ડિયાએ સૂત્રોને ટાંકીને જણાવ્યું છે કે, MG E230 ઇલેક્ટ્રિક કારને 20kWh ક્ષમતાનું બેટરી પેક આપવામાં આવશે, જેના કારણે તેની ડ્રાઇવિંગ રેન્જ 150 કિમી હશે. આ સિવાય, એવી અપેક્ષા છે કે આ કારમાં ઇલેક્ટ્રિક મોટર લગાવવામાં આવશે જે 54hp પાવર જનરેટ કરે છે.

કિંમત વિશે વાત કરીએ તો રિપોર્ટમાં અનુમાન લગાવવામાં આવ્યું છે કે ભારતમાં આ આવનારી MG ઇલેક્ટ્રિક કાર (ભારતમાં આવનારી ઈલેક્ટ્રિક કાર 2022)ની કિંમત 10 લાખ રૂપિયા (એક્સ-શોરૂમ)થી ઓછી હોઈ શકે છે. હાલમાં, ભારતમાં સૌથી સસ્તી ઇલેક્ટ્રિક કાર Tigor EV છે, જેની કિંમત રૂ. 11.99 લાખ, એક્સ-શોરૂમથી શરૂ થાય છે. આ કાર 306 કિમીની પ્રમાણિત રેન્જ આપવામાં સક્ષમ છે.
