 અરબી સમુદ્ર ઉપર બની રહેલા ચક્રવાતી તોફાન નિસર્ગ આજે બપોર સુધીમાં મહારાષ્ટ્ર અને ગુજરાતના દરિયાકાંઠાના જિલ્લાઓમાં દસ્તક આપી શકે છે, જેને જોતા નેશનલ ડિઝાસ્ટર રિસ્પોન્સ ફોર્સ (NDRF) ની 39 ટીમો તૈનાત કરવામાં આવી છે. 39 NDRF ટીમોમાંથી 16 ગુજરાતમાં, 20 મહારાષ્ટ્રમાં, બે દમણ અને દીવમાં અને એક દાદરા અને નગર હવેલીમાં તૈનાત કરવામાં આવી છે. NDRF ની મોટાભાગની ટીમો અરબી સમુદ્રને અડીને આવેલા દરિયાકાંઠાના જિલ્લાઓમાં તૈનાત છે.

હવામાન વિભાગ અનુસાર, વાવાઝોડું 11 કિલોમીટર પ્રતિ કલાકની ઝડપે ઉત્તર મહારાષ્ટ્રના દરિયાકાંઠે આગળ વધી રહ્યું છે. હાલમાં તે મહારાષ્ટ્રના અલીબાગથી 200 કિલોમીટર અને મુંબઈથી 250 કિલોમીટર દૂર છે. નિસર્ગ બપોરે 1 વાગ્યાની આસપાસ મુંબઈ કિનારે પહોંચશે.

NDRF ની 39 ટીમો તટવર્તી વિસ્તારોમાંથી લોકોને સલામત સ્થળે પહોંચાડવા અને રાજ્યની એજન્સીઓ સાથે સંકલન માટે તૈનાત કરવામાં આવી છે. જાગૃતિ અભિયાન મંગળવારથી જ શરૂ થયું છે. એનડીઆરએફની ટીમમાં 45 જવાનોનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.

એનડીઆરએફના ડાયરેક્ટર જનરલ એસ.એન. પ્રધાને મંગળવારે કહ્યું કે મહારાષ્ટ્ર અને ગુજરાતની વિનંતી પર NDRF ની વધારાની ટીમો મોકલવામાં આવી છે. NDRF એ કેટલીક ટીમોને સંપૂર્ણ રીતે તૈયાર રાખી છે, જે આત્યંતિક પરિસ્થિતિઓમાં મદદ પૂરી પાડશે. જો કે તે તીવ્ર તોફાન નથી, તેમ છતાં તમામ સાવચેતી રાખવામાં આવી રહી છે.
